Avenues for developing key social skills and communities of emotional support are provided by a group of people all working toward a common goal: create a positive life free of unhealthy dependencies.
Through group therapy you are placed in a setting where others who are traveling a very similar path can offer pertinent advice and the benefit of personal experience. You watch first-hand as others reach milestones of recovery, which builds hope that you can achieve the same. It also removes the sense of isolation associated with addiction. And you begin to learn to listen to how other people view things. You may also be on the receiving end of empathy for the first time in a long time, all the while giving you the opportunity to practice social skills in a supportive setting.
At Progressions TLC, we offer the following types of group therapy:
- Relapse prevention
- Addiction education
- Coping skills
- Family therapy
- Transitional support services
